What to Expect When You Arrive

Check in at the Admitting Desk in the Outpatient Services Center two hours before your scheduled procedure. Payment of deductibles and co-pays prior to the day of the procedure will expedite your arrival on the procedure day and eliminate the need for you to bring money or credit cards.

You will be directed to the department where your procedure will take place and a nurse will check you in and direct your family members to the waiting room. In most cases, the physician will speak with your family or designated adult contact after your procedure. To ensure patient privacy, visitors are not allowed in the recovery room.

Going Home

You will be discharged after you meet certain criteria, including a normal blood pressure and the ability to use the restroom. An adult other than yourself must drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours after your procedure. You may not take a taxi home. If you must remain in the hospital, a nurse will notify your family or emergency contact when you are in a hospital room.
