Patrick WrightA Special Dedication

The new Pediatric Unit at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center has a special place for children to play called Payton’s Playroom. The playroom is named after Holly and Patrick Wright’s daughter, who passed away at the age of five. The Wrights started the Payton Wright Foundation, which provided toys for the playroom. For the fifth year in a row, Manatee Memorial Hospital received the Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get with the Guidelines® program. Staff and physicians were thanked for their dedication to exceptional patient care by Kathy Fenelon (fourth from the left), Regional Vice President, American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

The Employee Activity Committee at Manatee Memorial celebrated the hospital’s 60 years in western style at the De Soto Grande Parade. This year’s theme for the parade was “How America Was Built” and the hospital’s float was one of the crowd’s favorites.

New Location Ribbon-cutting

The Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center, a service of Manatee Memorial Hospital, recently moved to a new location. The Center’s director, Suzanne Anderson, led the ribbon-cutting as staff and community leaders joined in the celebration. The Center’s new location is 5245 33rd Street East, Suite 32 in Bradenton off State Road 70 in the Manatee Town Center.
