GME Family Medicine

Manatee Memorial Hospital's Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year (36 month) osteopathic post graduate program. The program curriculum is administered by both DO and MD faculty attendings. Core rotations include: Family Medicine. Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and General Surgery.Rotations are also provided in NICU, Sports Medicine and Community Medicine.

Continuity of Care Clinic is an integral curriculum requirement, with increasing levels of time dedicated to this component during each successive year of the residency program.

Family Medicine Continuity Clinic:

Residents will have regularly assigned hours at the Family Medicine Continuity Clinic (FMCC) for the three-year duration of the Residency Program.

The requirements for the FMCC are as follows:

OGME–1 1 half-day per week
OGME–2 2 half-days per week
OGME–3 2 full-days per week

  • Internal Medicine – 4 weeks
  • Internal Medicine Outpatient – 4 weeks
  • Pediatrics – 4 weeks
  • General Surgery – 4 weeks
  • OB/GYN – 4 weeks
  • Emergency Medicine – 4 weeks
  • Psychiatry – 4 weeks
  • Cardiology – 4 weeks
  • Nephrology – 4 weeks
  • Pulmonary Medicine – 4 weeks
  • Elective – 4 weeks
  • House Officer Internal Medicine – 8 weeks

OGME-2

  • Internal Medicine – 4 weeks
  • OB/GYN – 4 weeks
  • Surgery – 4 weeks
  • Psychiatry – 4 weeks
  • Dermatology – 4 weeks
  • Orthopedics – 4 weeks
  • Family Practice IP – 4 weeks
  • Family Practice OP – 4 weeks
  • Pediatrics – 8 weeks
  • Elective – 8 weeks
  • Gastroenterology – 4 weeks

OGME–3

  • Emergency Medicine – 4 weeks
  • Neurology – 4 weeks
  • NICU – 2 weeks
  • Pediatric IP – 2 weeks
  • Surgery – 8 weeks
  • Family Practice IP – 4 weeks
  • Family Practice OP – 4 weeks
  • Infectious Disease – 4 weeks
  • Critical Care – 4 weeks
  • OB/GYN – 4 weeks
  • Sports Medicine – 2 weeks
  • Community Medicine – 2 weeks
  • Elective – 4 weeks
  • Geriatrics – 4 weeks
